Marco Polizzi

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Polizzi is CEO of Oakrum Pharma and has held several leadership roles throughout his career, most recently at Casper Pharma as EVP of Commercial Operations and Business Development (a newly created Specialty Branded Pharma organization) and at Sandoz as Head of Sales and Marketing Institutional (responsible for leading nearly a $1B P&L). Previously, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for JHP Pharma, where he led commercial operations and contributed to the sale of this private equity held business to Par Pharmaceuticals (now owned by Endo Pharmaceuticals). Mr. Polizzi also started the Specialty Brand Division of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals and led the Specialty Brands division for 8 years. Mr. Polizzi has also served in senior leadership roles at HD Smith, as SVP Sales and Marketing, and at Express Scripts, as VP Sales. Mr. Polizzi holds a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University and a Bachelors in Business from Missouri State University.

Averill Powers

Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel

Mr. Powers is Chief Strategy Officer and General Counsel and has spent the last 13 years incubating and growing biotech and pharmaceutical companies globally. Most recently, he led the formation, development and growth of multiple businesses at Roivant, Sciences, Inc. where he also played a significant role in its major financings and acquisitions. Mr. Powers spent a decade as a Partner at a series of biotech private equity funds where he raised equity and debt capital and executed transactions building diverse portfolios of biopharmaceutical assets. He has 30 years’ experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and private equity transactions. He worked previously at J.P. Morgan in London and New York where he served as a permanent member of the firm’s Investment Banking Valuation Committee in Europe and as a participant on J.P. Morgan Capital’s Global Investment Committee. Mr. Powers began his career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore in New York City and thereafter at Davis Polk and Wardwell. He has a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law and a B.A. degree from Columbia University.
